Philadelphia-based band Among Criminals. Their
eclectic sound, and explosive live show made them a hit with audiences
everywhere.
In their first 18 months, Among Criminals has
accomplished more than most bands ever have. They have played 375+
shows, regional and national tours that were booked by the band
themselves, and two self-produced self-recorded full-length albums that
can clearly show the bands evolution even in a short period of time.
Their diverse sound makes them a hit whether on a punk bill, or a
night filled with deadheads and tie-dye. No matter what, the band
sticks out enough to reach more and more people with every
performance. Much like their newest release “Happy History”, which
briefly sits in the sun-soaked island rhythms of the Carribean, only to
turn a corner to Rock music too heart-felt to be labeled progressive,
yet too complex to be considered “modern rock”. The songs range from a
more aggressive ‘60s protest sound, to a cry of a humanitarian, or
stories of love and compassion. The band proves to be more than 3
dimensional, both on stage and on record.
“Bounce with brains: the reggae moves your hips; their lyrics feed your mind.” - Joe Student, Philly Edge
